General and Technical Resources

At some point during the course, you may need technical assistance. The following resources are available to help you in those instances.

Canvas Support

If you are not familiar with using Canvas, please visit the website for tutorials and other student support services.

Help Desk

The Help Desk staff are聽available for real-time assistance Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., by calling 202-885-2550. You may also e-mail the Help Desk at helpdesk@american.edu at any time.

In addition, your course instructor may be able to provide some basic technical assistance or put you in touch with an appropriate contact.

System Status

The secure sections of the Web portal will be unavailable from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday evenings for regular system maintenance.

Reliable Internet Access

Please note that if you use a computer with a dial-up modem, you may experience difficulties using all the technologies associated with online learning and may not be able to access all the materials easily or at all.
