As a student at СÀ¶ÊÓƵWCL, he was active in moot court and the law review. And since graduation, he has been awarded the Alumni Award for Contributions to the Law School.Â
At the law school, Kirk has served on various advisory committees for over two decades, including the Dean's Advisory Council and its predecessors, and has been a long-time member of the John Sherman Myers Society. Outside of the law school, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lutheran World Relief, an international relief and development organization, and travels and speaks extensively on international development matters; is Chairman of the Board of Managers of the Hallowood Retreat & Conference Center, which is located near Comus, Maryland; and is a board member of the Lutheran Center Corporation in Baltimore, Maryland.Â
